The Individual Nine-Week Projects are designed for the second semester (and beyond) art student to give them the opportunity to showcase their best artistic abilities. These nine-week projects add up to be the semester final for the students. These projects allow for choice of media (sometimes) and subject matter. The projects are self-directed and worked on throughout the semester. The teacher and student work together to settle on the final plan for the projects.The student develops their time management skills and knowledge about setting realistic goals of achievement in the arts. The examples below are past students nine-week projects. You will see a variety of media and subject matter being used. Every student chooses their own media and subject matter for this project. The student sets up their goals of achievement for each grading session and I grade them according to how well they met these goals or phases of the project. All projects are also graded on originality, craftsmanship, and participation and effort.
